Venue
The symposium will be held in the B-building of the Faculty for Applied Natural Sciences (short: FAN) complex located in the south-east of the campus right besides the Ecological-Botanical Garden of the University of Bayreuth. It is easily accessible by car or public transportation.

Bayreuth can be reached directly from the larger Deutsche Bahn railway hub Nuremberg ("Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof"). Trains leave Nuremberg main station on an hourly basis; the travel time is approximately 1 hour (ATTENTION: On their way to Bayreuth the trains sometimes split in two with only the head of train going to Bayreuth!). The nearest airport to Bayreuth is Nuremberg with a fair number of Domestic and European connections. The closest international airports are Frankfurt and Munich from which you can reach Bayreuth by train.
By Car
Bayreuth can conveniently be reached via the motorways A70 (Schweinfurt-Bayreuth) and A9 (Berlin-Munich). For reaching the university campus via the A9 get off at the exit 42 "Bayreuth Süd". Follow the traffic signs towards "Bayreuth" and "Universität" (University).

Within Bayreuth public buses commute regularly between the city center and the university campus. All bus lines start from the central bus station ("ZOH"). There are two bus lines heading directly to the university: Line 306 to "Campus" and line 304 to "Birken-Universität". Exit the bus at the bus stop "Mensa" (cafeteria) or "Geowissenschaften". About Bayreuth
The cultural richness of Bayreuth is manifested by its historic sites. It has the most beautiful preserved Baroque Theatre in Europe with the Margravial Opera House (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 2012). The Opera House just underwent major refurbishment and is re-opening on April 12. 2018.
